My customers cannot submit their sites. After filling out all of the fields in the form and clicking to submit their site their browser just goes to a white page with an error message similar to the following text:
"<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0;URL=processing.php?keyword=Wood Furniture&email=brianjy99@u.washington.edu&url=ht tp%3A%2F%2Fww w.woodfurn.net&bid=3&categ=S>"
An email with the submission does get generated and I can see a partial submission in the Admin console in Manage Orders. When I go to edit the order I get the following error:
"You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1"
This has happened to my last 6 customers in a row.
Could you tell us your site url please.
Thanks
Please let me known the URL of the site. Also please tell me if the porblem appear just with IE 7 - or 8, but on FireFox all is fine ... ?
On the site root folder please edtit the file ' submit.php ' and replace the lines 45-46 from:
echo("<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0;URL=processing.php?keyword=$keyword&email=$email&url=$url&bid=$bid&categ=$categ>");
exit;}
TO:
echo("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript'>
<!-- Begin
redirTime = '1';
redirURL = 'processing.php?keyword=$keyword&email=$email&url=$url&bid=$bid&categ=$categ';
function redirTimer() { self.setTimeout('self.location.href = redirURL;',redirTime); }
// End -->
</script>
<BODY onLoad='redirTimer()'></>");
exit;}
Also if you have same problem on the BID upgrade please follow the below.
Edit the file upgrade.php and replace the line 36-37 from:
echo("<meta http-equiv='refresh' content='0;URL=update.php?newbid=$newbid&oldbid=$oldbid&bidid=$bidid&url=$url&keyword=$keyword&email=$email'>");
exit;}
TO:
echo("<SCRIPT LANGUAGE='JavaScript'>
<!-- Begin
redirTime = '1';
redirURL = 'processing.php?keyword=$keyword&email=$email&url=$url&bid=$bid&categ=$categ';
function redirTimer() { self.setTimeout('self.location.href = redirURL;',redirTime); }
// End -->
</script>
<BODY onLoad='redirTimer()'></>");
exit;}

Am I crazy or does validating a submission form seem like the logical 1st step before publishing a directory script?

I am sure you are a very same person, technology has a way of making us seem crazy now and again. I have a feeling the issues you enconter is probably caused by browser, we have a demo of the script here http://labs.temi.co.uk/lbspremium/ I tried replicating the error you seem to be having on demo version without any success.
Also, the hosting platform causes this issues sometimes. I like keeping our customers happy, I have refunded you payment in the hope of keeping you happy, you can also keep the script but I strongly suggest you try installing it on another server.
Thanks

I was able to duplicate the error on your demo site with both IE8 and Chrome on Windows 7. Try it for yourself. Firefox is fine. I know its not just my PC either because I've had 9 failed submissions from would be bidders on my directory yesterday alone.
I'm sorry, but if the script doesn't support these browsers then you shouldn't be charging for it as its still beta code IMO.
Please send us the two files which you updated yesterday: submit.php and upgrade.php

files sent. I also thought I would share some problems a bidder who was able to submit with Firefox had. I have experienced these in my testing as well:
Just thought I'd give you a heads up - there were a couple of errors/warnings along the way (towards the end of the process).
One when i was coming back from Paypal to your site - I got an warning that your site might be trying to trick mine by providing log in details where are needed. This was in Firefox.
Also when I tried to click to go home it had weird url: MyDirectory @ comadmin @ MyDirectory.com
I've attached the files. Please upload an this will resolve the IE8 problem.

I am having similar problems, none of my directories seem to work properly :(
The sites look great but the engines are not working well..
Submitted sites don't show up in the "Inactive Listings" area..
In the Manage Orders area, things like Order ID: 58f52c22b107c1d92a7aae054371fa6d shows up, and when I click the Edit link to see what's up, this shows up:
You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near '' at line 1
I don't know what to do, but wait for a new version of this software and try to upgrade and see if it works out.
Here is a list of my directories: websitemarketing org uk/about php
I have tried activating the free link submission on the Summerholidays org uk site, where links can be submitted but they do not show up in the back office for approval.
Thanks for any help provided..
Have you got a free or paid script?

Hi Temi I don't recall paying for it, I got it from this thread:
http forums.linkbidscript com/showthread.php?t=8375&page=3
If you look back in to that thread you will see my post requesting it.
Is there a difference between the paid and the free version that I used?

Do you think maybe ya'all aught to fix this POS? Now, common people. You charge for a really good looking script that does not work. You blame your failures on browsers or servers. You offer patches that do not work. DO YOU REALLY think you should be in business? GET your shit together and produce what you advertise. I am f'ing sick and tired of trying to fix your failure to fix this thing. Sorry, if you think I am being a bit harsh; but, Temi, you pretend to know how to be a webmaster and offer SEO advice. It is time for you to either & Put-UP or Shut-UP!!!!! No, I do NOT want a refund. I want you to make this thing work the way it is advertised. If I have to write this on my own, I will put you out of business. I have been asking for assistance, privately, for the last week. IT IS TIME TO GET OFF YOUR ASS AND FIX THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you think being rude and brash is what gets you what want, please continue being rude and brash. I tend to ignore rude people, you are supposed to be so perfect and you cannot even put your email in the messages you sent to me correctly or how do you account for me replying to the two emails you sent from our site and you receiving neither. If you learn to post sensible request, you will get services is all you can do is be rude, you will be ignored till you learn some go manners or you go away.

Temi, I have been very polite in my request to you. All that did was get me ignored. It obviously took some stronger language to get you excited enough about your own product to reply. Not only did my THREE not two requests include the correct email, the requests were so simple a child could have understood. I also included my original transaction number for proof of payment. Instead of defending yourself, you could have just made sure that you actually replied with the information I sought. Please, post, either here or in an email to my registration email address, how I can obtain the most recent iteration of the script that has the submit and upgrade feature patched. I do not think this is too much to ask.
You are very wrong, I got two emails from you, resply to one of my emails and I will see what I can do for you. You should actually reply to the email I sent you, not go to the contact page and send off emails like you have been doing.
